ELLSWORTH – The Ellsworth Lions members have been calling on area businesses to invest in the 2023-2024 Community Calendar. For over 30 years, the club has provided the calendar to the community at no cost. Area businesses purchase an ad space on the calendar and receive advertising on our Annual Fishing Derby flyers ad as well as throughout the year on social media. Calendars are available each year in August from club members, at Nilssen’s and the post office. The calendar lists meeting dates for the village, area organizations, school events, and holidays, to mention a few. If you have an event you’d like listed, contact the Ellsworth Lions at EllsworthLions@gmail.com or at our mailing address at PO Box 215, Ellsworth, WI 54011.
Our club is hosting a garage sale as part of the 100 Miles of Little Town Thrift Sales, April 20-22, 8a.m. to 5 p.m. each day. We are holding our sale at Zion Covenant Church, 210 N. Beulah St. All items will be available for purchase by donation unless the item is valued over $20. All proceeds from this sale will go to the Hunger Prevention Council-Pierce County. As at our past sales, there will be collectibles, housewares, glassware and so much more. Items come from at least 14 different households to guarantee a great variety. Plan to attend to find a treasure or two as we collaborate to support our community.
We have raffle tickets available for purchase to benefit St. Jude’s Childhood Research. Tickets are $20 each. The drawing will be held at 3 p.m. Saturday, April 22 at Sabes Loft, W6390 State Road 35, Bay City. Contact Lions Jay or Stacey Nesseth for additional details.
Our next membership meeting is at 6:30 p.m. Monday, April 24 at Nesseths’ home, 560 W. Kinne St. If you are interested in Lions, we welcome you to join us.
