ELLSWORTH – According to the Wisconsin Department of Transportation, the improvement projects along US Highways 10/63 (West Main Street) from State Road 65 (North Maple Street) to North Beulah Street and State Road 65 (North Maple Street) from US Highway 10 (West Main Street) to Midway Avenue resumed work April 18, 2022.

These projects aim to improve the condition of the pavement on US Highway 10 and State Road 65, truck turning movements at the US 10/63/State Road 65 intersection and curb ramps along both roadways.

In 2022, this project will

• Mill a portion of the existing concrete on US Highway 10/63 from approximately North Oak Street to North Beulah Street and overlay it with asphalt pavement.

• Mill a portion of the existing asphalt on State Road 65 from approximately West Kinne Street to Midway Avenue and overlay it with asphalt pavement.

• Upgrade all non-compliant curb ramps along US 10/63 and State Road 65, except at the intersection of the highways.

• Replace pavement marking.

• Realign left-turn lanes at the US Highway 10/63/State Road 65 intersection to allow for improved truck turning movements at the intersection.

• Upgrade traffic signals at the US Highway 10/63/State Road 65 intersection.

Real estate

• Additional right of way will be required for roadway improvements at the US Highway 10/63/State Road 65 intersection.

• Temporary easements will be required for curb ramp improvements along US 10/63 and State Road 65.

During construction, US Highway 10/63 and State Road 65 will remain open to traffic, but the project will be con –

structed using single-lane closures controlled by flagging op erations.
