ELLSWORTH – For 100 years, the American Legion Auxiliary has distributed the memorial poppy to remind Americans that millions of service men and women sac- rificed their lives and health to keep our nation free.
The red poppy will be distributed to the public in Ellsworth on Wednesday, May 25, by Kinne-Englehart Unit 204 Ellsworth American Legion Auxiliary members. Please accept and wear a poppy in honor of veterans. ALL DONATIONS from poppy distribution are used entirely to assist veterans and their families in this community and for Veteran facilities.
The red poppy has become a nationally recog-
nized symbol of sacrifice worn by Americans since WWI to honor those who served and died for our country in all wars. Wearing a poppy reminds us that millions have sacrificed their lives and health to keep our nation free.
The American Legion Auxiliary poppy is handmade by veterans who receive a small stipend for each poppy made.
Thank you for supporting veterans by wearing a poppy.
