ELLSWORTH – Ellsworth Public Library has plenty of amazing summer programming for all ages this year. With Tales and Tails as the theme for 2021, the library’s offerings include a reading and activities challenge, Storywalks, scavenger hunts, local farm visits and in-person outdoor events where participants will explore real and fantastic animals through story, art and educational programs.
Beanstack reading challenge participants of all ages can earn prizes by logging their reading and completing activities. Prizes are awarded as well as entries into our grand prize drawings for kids, teens and adults. Register on the library website or ask at the library for a paper log. The program begins June 14 with a Kick-Off Open House Event from 5-7 p.m. at the future site of the Ellsworth Public Library at 388 W. Main St., and runs through Aug. 6.
Weekly and monthly on-going programs
•Storytime in the Park, Fridays at 10 a.m. in East End Park (except for July 2)
•Poolside Storytime, Thursdays beginning June 17 during afternoon swim breaks around 2-3 p.m.
•Evening in the Park Storytime, July 13 with our friends from Ugly Dog Therapy and Aug. 10 at 6:30 p.m., Summit Park
•LEGO in the Park, June 15, July 20, Aug. 17 at 4 p.m., East End Park
•Art in the Park, June 19, July 24 and Aug. 21, adults only 10-11 a.m.; all ages, 11 a.m. to noon, East End Park
•Together Thursdays, East End Park 5-7 p.m., activities and live music (starts at 5:30 p.m.)

About the Ellsworth Public Library
Located at 312 W Main St., Ellsworth, the library is a member of the IFLS library system, MORE Consortium, and WISCAT. Its local book and DVD collection serves over 2,800 registered borrowers from the Village of Ellsworth and many surrounding townships. The library also offers free Wi-Fi 24/7 and computers for public use. A library was founded in a private home in Ellsworth in 1924 and has been in its current location since 1932.
