ELLSWORTH – The Ellsworth Public Library is excited to announce an upcoming hands-on workshop titled “House Plants 101: Care, Benefits and Propagation,” set to take place at 6 p.m. Wednesday, Jan. 15 in the Ellsworth Public Library Makerspace. This engaging event will be led by Master Gardener Mary Vagt, who will share her expertise and passion for house plants.

Whether you're a seasoned plant enthusiast or just getting started with indoor gardening, this workshop offers something for everyone. Participants will gain valuable insights into the essential care practices that keep house plants thriving, as well as the many benefits that indoor plants bring to your home environment, such as improved air quality and stress reduction.

As a hands-on component, attendees will have the opportunity to receive cuttings from Mary Vagt's collection and learn the basics of propagation. Participants will be shown how to care for their new plants and how to grow more to share with friends and family. Vagt’s extensive knowledge of plant care will provide attendees with the skills to successfully propagate their own house plants and expand their green spaces.

“House plants can be incredibly rewarding to grow, and I’m excited to share the joys of caring for and propagating them,” says Vagt. “This workshop will give people the confidence to start new plants and pass on their love of gardening to others.”

The workshop is free and open to the public, but space is limited, so attendees are encouraged to register early. To reserve your spot, please contact the Ellsworth Public Library at 715-273-3209 or visit the library’s website for more information, https://www.ellsworthlibrary.org/
