The Ellsworth School Board has been working extra duty, trying to keep up with the work of its administration team and staff in preparing for the coming school year.
The school board approved a five-day instruction schedule last Tuesday night, along with a plan for virtual education for families who wish not to have their children in school.
The district unveiled its plans for the 2020-21 school year two weeks ago.
The plan calls for assigned seating on buses, and the district expects many students to be transported to school by parents instead of on district buses.
District Superintendent Barry Cain expects more changes to the educational plan. A special school District meeting has been scheduled for 6 p.m. on Aug.. 24 for a final review.
“Everything is coming together. Our staff worked hard putting together this plan, but everything is changing so fast,” said Cain.
Cain said the districts expects guidance from the Department of Health on school closure situations and from the WIAA on fall sports seasons this week.
