We are super excited to announce the Ellsworth Senior Center is moving a short distance to English Lutheran Church (229 W. Main St., Ellsworth).
Representatives from the church have been very welcoming and hospitable throughout our “move discussions” and are just as excited as we are about this move! We plan to serve you and all seniors from this new location beginning the week of Sept. 9. Come check out our larger, bright space, with windows and a large parking lot!
From Main Street, turn on Piety Street, go a short distance, enter the church parking area, turn right and follow the sign that says Main Entrance which takes you to the parking lot between the building and Piety Street. Enter through the double doors which are at ground level – no more ramp! See you at the new location for the Ellsworth Senior Center beginning on Sept. 9!
The Ellsworth Senior Center would like to invite all senior citizens age 50 and greater to the following events to be held at the senior center:
Come and join the Pool Players from 1-3 p.m. every Monday and Friday.
Euchre Card Players are meeting at 1 p.m. Thursday, Sept. 12 and Thursday, Sept. 26. Beginners are welcome and encouraged to come.
Celebrating Seniors Gathering will be held at 1:30 p.m. Wednesday, Aug. 28 at Summit Park (100 W. Grove St.) Cake and ice cream will be served followed by White Elephant Bingo day. Everyone is invited to bring a wrapped white elephant prize. We will be playing with the snitch rule after all prizes are won. The gathering will be at the Ellsworth Senior Center in case of adverse weather. Summit Park directions: From Highway 10/Main St., turn north on Beulah Street (by Speedway), turn right on West Grove Street; we will be in the picnic pavilion.
Discovering Together Tuesday will be held at 11 a.m. Sept. 10 with professional organizer Valerie Cady. Have you wanted to get your home organized by decluttering or downsizing but are unsure where everything should go? Valerie will teach us about the many resources in our area that focus on reducing waste. She will share tips and tricks for making the organizing process easier. Cady is the owner of Winnow & Spruce Organizing based in the St. Croix Valley. She approaches the organizing process with compassion, fun and creative solutions! She believes that becoming more organized will transform your life. A meal will be provided following the program courtesy of Ellsworth Senior Center and Friends of the Ellsworth Public Library.
Unless otherwise stated, all events are at the Ellsworth Senior Center located in the basement of the old Ellsworth Public Library (312 W. Main St) until Sept. 6 and after that located at English Lutheran Church (229 W. Main St.)
