One last reminder that we have relocated the Ellsworth Senior Center to English Lutheran Church, the brick church at 229 W. Main St.; check out our larger, bright space, with windows and a large parking lot. We hope you will join us at our new location!

The Ellsworth Senior Center would like to invite all senior citizens age 50 and greater to the following events to be held at the senior center:

Come and join the Pool Players from 1-4 p.m. every Monday and Friday.

Euchre Card Players are meeting at 1 p.m. Thursday, Sept. 26 and Thursday, Oct. 10. Beginners are welcome and encouraged to come.

Game Day will be held 1-3 p.m. Oct. 1; we are restarting our newest gathering for fun and group games. We will be meeting through the winter months to help chase away the cabin fever that winter brings. Come and share your afternoon together.

All aboard for a ride through history with Arlyn Colby, area railroad enthusiast, historian and author, at  Discovering Together Tuesday, held at 11 a.m. Oct. 8 at Ellsworth Senior Center. Arlyn will share the history of the Ellsworth Line of the Omaha Rail from its creation in 1885 to its removal in the 1960s. A luncheon will follow the program sponsored by the Ellsworth Senior Center and the Friends of the Library.

The Ellsworth Senior Center is currently planning an outing to the New Richmond Heritage Center on Oct. 9. We will carpool and the trip is free to senior groups. It includes admission to all the Heritage Center buildings and grounds. Registration is due by Oct. 7 in order to allow ample time to line up drivers. Call us at 715-273-5873 for more information.

Katrina will be providing Foot Care for a fee on Tuesday, Oct. 15 (six-schedule) beginning at 8:30 a.m. Please call the Senior Center for more information or to schedule an appointment.

Our Balanced Wellness Presentation with CJ Young will be held at 11 a.m. Wednesday, Oct. 16.  CJ will bring along her Tanita computer to read our personal Body Composition Readings following her presentation. We will also be doing some group exercises to help maintain our balance and strength.

Celebrating Seniors Gathering will be held at 1:30 p.m. Wednesday, Oct. 30. The Ellsworth High School Drama will perform a sample preview of their upcoming theatrical musical production of “The Addams Family.” Cake and ice cream will be served following the presentation.

The Ellsworth Senior Center is once again planning an outing to Treasure Island for a Branson Country Christmas “Special Tribute to Veterans” featuring the Ozark Jubilee, noon show on Thursday, Nov. 7. We will be meeting at the Senior Center to carpool. The group cost is $55 and includes lunch, show, taxes and tips and must be prepaid by Oct. 21. Call us at 715-273-5873 for more information.

Unless otherwise stated, all events are at the Ellsworth Senior Center located at English Lutheran Church (229 W. Main St.)
