The Ellsworth Senior Center is open on Tuesday and Thursday mornings from 8:30 -11:30 a.m. Feel free to stop in to select food from the food pantry, or a puzzle to put together at home, or a DVD to watch at home. Please push the doorbell to the right of the doors for a few seconds and we will come and greet you. The Ellsworth Senior Center is located at 229 W. Main St., in the lower level of English Lutheran Church.
You are always welcome to come and play pool with our pool players on Mondays and Fridays from 1-4 p.m.
Euchre will meet Thursday, May 22 at 1 p.m. You are always welcome to join the Euchre players.
In honor of Memorial Day, Julie Huebel from the Pierce County Historical Society will be presenting some stories she has discovered about some of our local veterans. Come join us in honoring their memory at 1:30 p.m. Tuesday, May 27 at our Celebrating Senior Gathering. Cake and ice cream will be served following the presentation.
We’re also looking forward to our June 10 Discovering Together Tuesday presentation at 11 a.m. Dan Goodier, originally from Bay City, has written his first novel “Sounds of a Distant Train.” After a career in senior healthcare leadership, Dan pursued his lifelong dream of writing. Now living between Hudson and St. Croix Falls, Dan draws inspiration from family and the creative energy of his grandchildren. Don’t miss this heartfelt conversation with a storyteller as he shares the story behind his book. A luncheon will follow, sponsored by the Ellsworth Senior Center and Friends of the Ellsworth Public Library.
Unless otherwise stated, all events are at the Ellsworth Senior Center, located at English Lutheran Church (229 W. Main St., Ellsworth).
