ELLSWORTH — The Ellsworth Chamber of Commerce and local community organizations are excited to announce the return of the Summer Fun Series, a free family-friendly event series taking place Thursday evenings, June 4, 11, and 18, from 5-7 p.m. in East End Park during the Ellsworth Farmers Market.
Now entering another season, the Summer Fun Series was created to provide a fun and welcoming community gathering space where residents, families, neighbors, and visitors can connect, relax, and enjoy time together close to home. Organizers say the series is about more than entertainment. It is about creating opportunities for people to gather, build relationships, and enjoy shared experiences in the heart of the community.
“In today’s busy world, opportunities for casual community connection are more important than ever,” says Kim Beebe, Executive Director of the Ellsworth Chamber of Commerce. “The Summer Fun Series creates a place where families can spend time together, kids can play, neighbors can connect, and people can simply enjoy being part of the community. We’re so grateful for our amazing civic partners and businesses who help make the events possible each year.”
This year’s series will feature three themed events:
June 4 | Kick-Off with the King
Dig out those blue suede shoes! Back by popular demand, Joe Sir’s Elvis Tribute Show returns to East End Park with crowd favorites, high-energy hits, outdoor games, family activities, and food, all brought to you courtesy of Our Saviors Lutheran Church.
June 11 | Summer Beach Party
Get ready for some good vibrations. Families can cool off with a giant slip-and-slide, inflatable fun, beach-themed activities, and summer music from DJ Landon Gilbertson. Sponsored by the Ellsworth Chamber, food for purchase will be available from Serrano’s Food Truck.
June 18 | Ren in the Park
Hear ye, hear ye! This whimsical evening features folk music, bubbles, fairy magic, enchanted activities, and family fun for explorers and dreamers of all ages. Brought to you by the Ellsworth Public Library, Kingdom of the Shires, and Movement Arts Hub. Food will be available for purchase from The Mac Shack Food Truck.
Each event takes place alongside the Ellsworth Farmers Market, creating a lively Thursday evening experience filled with local vendors, fresh produce, baked goods, handmade items, food, and community connection. Organizers encourage attendees to stroll the market, support local growers and makers, and enjoy everything East End Park has to offer.
While the Summer Fun Series has traditionally included additional dates throughout the summer, this year’s schedule has been condensed due to the major East End revitalization construction project taking place in the district. Organizers say the shortened season reflects the logistical realities of the construction work while also recognizing the importance of continuing community activity and supporting businesses in the area during the transition.
“We know construction projects are challenging for businesses and visitors alike, but we also know how important it is to continue bringing positive energy and activity into the district,” adds Beebe. “This revitalization project represents a major investment in Ellsworth’s future, and we encourage the community to continue supporting East End businesses throughout the summer.”
The Ellsworth Farmers Market will continue in East End Park during the Summer Fun Series before relocating to the Ace Hardware parking lot following the June 18 event for the remainder of the season.
The month of June will conclude with another major East End tradition as the Cheese Curd Festival returns to Ellsworth June 26-27, bringing thousands of visitors to the community for a weekend celebrating food, music, family fun, and Wisconsin’s favorite cheese curds from our own Ellsworth Cooperative Creamery.
All Summer Fun Series events are free and open to the public.
