ELLSWORTH — The Ellsworth Cheese Curd Festival has once again been nominated for the USA TODAY 10Best Readers’ Choice Award for Best Specialty Food Festival, placing it among 20 standout food festivals from across the country. Community members are encouraged to show their support by voting daily through 11 a.m. on Monday, March 2.
Nominated by a panel of industry experts, the annual USA TODAY 10Best awards highlight exceptional events that celebrate regional food traditions and unique culinary experiences. Ellsworth’s Cheese Curd Festival is the only festival in the Upper Midwest to make the list.
“This recognition is something our entire community can be proud of,” said Kim Beebe, Executive Director of the Ellsworth Chamber of Commerce. “The Cheese Curd Festival is a celebration of Ellsworth’s identity, our agricultural roots, and the businesses and volunteers who help bring thousands of visitors to town each year. We’re honored to once again represent our region on a national stage.”
As the home of Ellsworth Cooperative Creamery — the festival’s main sponsor and the reason Ellsworth is known as the Cheese Curd Capital of Wisconsin — the event has become a signature tradition that draws visitors from across the state and beyond. From fresh cheese curds and local food vendors to live entertainment and family-friendly activities, the festival highlights what makes Ellsworth a special place to live and visit.
This year is especially meaningful as the community prepares to celebrate the 25th Annual Cheese Curd Festival on June 26 and 27, 2026. A strong showing in the national voting would make this milestone year even more special.
This marks the fourth time the festival has been in the running for national recognition, and Ellsworth has proudly made the 10Best list three times. With the 25th anniversary approaching, the community once again has the chance to come together and show its support. Supporters can cast their vote once per day until the deadline.
Voting is open now at: https://bit.ly/10BestFoodFest26
Winners will be announced on Wednesday, March 11.
“This festival belongs to the entire community,” added Beebe. “Every vote is a way to celebrate Ellsworth, support our local businesses, and share what makes our small town a tourism destination.”
