Ellsworth’s east end from 3-6 p.m. Over $1,000 in prizes will be given away through door prizes, raffles, and a euchre tournament. Tickets are available for purchase through Legion members at $5 a piece or $20 for a book of five tickets.

The American Legion in Ellsworth has been a running member post for more than 100 years. Some members recently celebrated their 50th year of membership.

For many years the American Legion has sponsored community events and recognized other community groups for their work with veterans.

“We presented a plaque to the Ellsworth School District for their participation in Memorial Day services with us,” Hines said. “We also recognized the Ellsworth Rod & Gun Club for their work with veterans in the area.”

Recently, the American Legion held its annual meeting Oct. 23, which 80 members attended and celebrated. During this meeting, Post 204 welcomed and recognized new members, including Charles “Chuck” Thompson, Paul Belland and David Lein. By growing their member base, they create more resources and support for veterans in the Ellsworth area.

The Legion is always looking for new members; anyone who has served in the Armed Forces or is currently serving in the Armed Forces is welcome. The women’s auxiliary is also welcoming new members. For more information about joining or buying fundraiser tickets, contact Jack Hines at 715-307-1274 or the American Legion at 715-273-4042.
