The Village of Ellsworth’s East End Revitalization Initiative has been selected as the 2026 Wisconsin Top Rural Development Initiative Award winner by Wisconsin Rural Partners.
This award recognizes initiatives across the state that strengthen rural communities, improve quality of life, and support long-term economic vitality. The project was recognized for its commitment to thoughtful planning, infrastructure investment, and long-term community development.

While the recognition comes under the East End Revitalization Initiative name, it really reflects years of planning, collaboration, and shared vision across many groups in Ellsworth.

Awards like this are really a reflection of the many people who show up to meetings, participate in planning processes, and continue working toward a stronger future for our community. Thank you to everyone who has played a role in moving these efforts forward.
Wisconsin Rural Partners will formally present the award at their Annual Summit on April 30 in Prairie du Chien, and Village President Becky Beissel will represent Ellsworth there.
