Elmwood's Crain-Ottman American Legion Post was chartered on July 20, 1921, as the Albert C. Crain Post 207. It is named after Albert Crain, the only Elmwood serviceman that died during WWI. It was rechartered as the Crain-Ottman Post in honor of Harry Ottman, the first Elmwood serviceman who died during WWII.

Pat Hines is a 32-year member of the Crain-Ottman Post 207. Elmwood, WI. About four years ago, he accepted the office of Vice-Commander. When Pat asked what that office entailed, he learned he would be the membership chair. To help him with that job he could establish a committee to collect dues and recruit new members. Well, he never did get that committee together, he just did it all by himself!

The first year Pat presented membership above 95% which was a new record for the Post. During his next three years, he achieved 100% membership. His 2021 goal has already been met and surpassed. Post 207 congratulates Pat Hines on his hard work and celebrates his great accomplishments!

With COVID affecting all our lives last year, Pat continued to serve the Legion by talking to old members and recruiting new members week after week. He noted some people had financial concerns due to unemployment, etc. Yet these dedicated people chose to continue, or begin, their support of the Legion and we are so grateful for all the support and for Pat's devotion to his Post.

The officers and members of Post 207, congratulate Pat Hines on his outstanding contributions and membership success to Elmwood's Crain-Ottman Legion Post 207.
