Embrace the adventure: Our Center opens its doors for the travel season

As the sun extends its warm embrace and nature awakens from its wintry slumber, it's that time of year again—travel season is upon us! With great anticipation, we at the Great River Road Visitor and Learning Center – Freedom Park are ready to open our doors to all wanderlust souls seeking unforgettable adventures along the Great River Road.

Nestled on the bluffs of Prescott overlooking the mighty Mississippi River, our center and park stand as a beacon for travelers and residents alike. But our center isn't just a destination; it's a community— a gathering place for our town’s people and a place where travelers from all walks of life can celebrate the joy of exploration.

For the nature enthusiasts, lose yourself amidst the verdant beauty of our bluff line, where every step leads to breathtaking vistas. Birding enthusiasts will delight in the migration of many spectacular birds.

The Great River Road Visitor and Learning Center has curated a plethora of immersive experiences for every age this season. Our center offers a range of family-friendly activities guaranteed to educate and entertain all who attend. From a new “Music in the Park” series, to interactive workshops for children, and an educational bus tour, there's no shortage of fun-filled experiences to delight the young and the young at heart. All event information and center hours can be found at www.freedomparkwi.org.

Consider becoming one of our “Stewards of the Park” this year. Those that love the outdoors, help with the gardens; those who love people, help at our welcome desk; those who love the excitement of events, help to support them. Those who like to help/volunteer will find a place here where community is at the heart of everything.

As we fling open our doors starting on May 1 to welcome the arrival of the travel season, let the spirit of wanderlust be your guide as you embark on the adventure of a lifetime at the Great River Road Visitor and Learning Center. Know that you're always welcome here with open arms!

The Great River Road Visitor and Learning Center – Freedom Park is located at 200 Monroe St. Prescott.
