Summer is the perfect time for family adventures. Looking for that extra special experience this summer? One last hurrah before summer is over? Consider traveling the Great River Road down to La Crosse for the weekend or travel beyond for a longer period of time. Discover the scenic beauty along The Great River Road, a National Scenic Byway. The journey offers a breathtaking experience along the Mississippi River, showcasing some of the most stunning landscapes in Wisconsin.
Plan your visit to the Great River Road Visitor and Learning Center prior to your trip. The Great River Road Visitor and Learning Center is easily accessible and open six days a week (Tuesday to Sunday) throughout the summer months. Our friendly staff are ready to assist you with travel tips, maps, and information to make your journey along the Great River Road unforgettable.
Our center has some amazing visitor amenities for your convenience. Freedom Park is equipped with picnic areas, shelters, restrooms, and a newly redesigned gift shop stocked with local products and branded souvenirs. Whether you're looking for a place to rest and recharge or a unique memento to remember your trip, we’ve got you covered.
If you are planning to stay close to our lovely Prescott, we are offering special summer events throughout the summer months. We host a variety of special events that celebrate the unique culture and heritage of the Great River Road. From music in the park events and local art displays to environmental education programs, there’s always something happening at the Great River Road Visitor and Learning Center.
