RIVER FALLS – First National Bank of River Falls donated $2,500 towards creating dedicated outdoor pickleball courts for the Prescott community.

Lisa Johnson, Prescott Branch Officer of First National Bank of River Falls, along with employees of the FNBRF Prescott branch presented the check to the Prescott Pickleball Club on March 7, 2023. The funds will help to pay for dedicated outdoor courts which will be located at Public Square Park in Prescott. Currently, the only option for outdoor pickleball play is shared with the tennis courts.

The Prescott Pickleball Club is actively fundraising and accepting all donations to meet their financial goal.

“We are thankful the Prescott Pickleball Club came to us with their donation request and are happy to support their goal to bring dedicated outdoor Pickleball courts to the Prescott community,” Johnson said.

According to the Association of Pickleball Professionals (APP), pickleball has been the fastest-growing sport for the past three years. There are currently 36.5 million pickleball players in the United States. Despite rumors that pickleball is a sport saturated by seniors, players 18-34 make up the largest percentage of pickleball players nationwide.

It will be fun to watch pickleball continue to grow in popularity in our communities.
