RED WING -- Disability Support International (DSI), a local Red Wing-based nonprofit, is inviting community members of all abilities to take part in its 4th Annual Triathlon and Inclusive 4K, to be held Saturday, Sept. 20, 2025, starting and ending at Bay Point Park in Red Wing.

This unique event offers two race formats, encouraging participation from both seasoned athletes and casual movers alike. The DSI Triathlon is a “choose-your-own-adventure” challenge that includes paddling on the Mississippi River, mountain or road biking, and running - with flexible options for participants to complete one, two, or all three segments, either solo or in teams.

In addition, the Inclusive 4K is an untimed, non-competitive walk, race, or wheel event, open to all ages and abilities, including runners and walkers, wheelchair users, families with strollers, and individuals with disabilities. The 4K follows a paved and flat scenic route along the riverfront, making it accessible and enjoyable for everyone.

“Whether you're an athlete looking for a challenge or someone who just wants to be part of a fun, inclusive community event, there's a way for everyone to take part,” said Jennie Wendland, Executive Director of DSI.

The event not only promotes community inclusion, but also raises funds for DSI’s mission to improve the lives of people with disabilities in developing countries through education, training, and local partnerships.

Race-day start times begin at 10:00 a.m., with staggered starts for each segment of the triathlon. Children aged 5 and under may participate in the 4K for free. Monthly DSI donors also receive complimentary race registration.
