Frederick (Rick) Hines

Frederick Joseph Hines age 78 of Plum City died peacefully April 27th, 2020 at the Plum City Care Center. Rick was born on October 24, 1941 at home in the Township of El Paso, Pierce County. He was the son of Walter and Avis (Smith) Hines. He was one of the thirteen children born to Walt and Avis. He married Linda Gense November 13th, 1958. They had six children together, and later divorced.

In his early years he worked on the family farm. He later worked for several years with Bud Blodgett and Bernard Schroeder honing his carpentry skills. He later ventured out on his own and started own carpentry business. He was a master carpenter and took great pride in his work. Rick always had a quick wit and a huge heart. He enjoyed helping others. He will be sadly missed.

Rick is survived by his children, Lorie (Randy) Kallstrom, Chris Hines and Fiance Rebecca Pope, Penny Hines, Russ (Diane) Hines, Karen (Ed) Herbison. Sixteen grandchildren and 18 great grandchildren.

Siblings, Jim (Elaine) Hines, Tom (Mary) Hines, Sister-in-law Carol Hines, Mike (Mary) Hines, Dixie (Doug) Raehsler, Pat (Nancy) Hines, Tony (Kathy) Hines, Trudy (Gary) Young, Mary (Mike) Metcalf, Steve (Elise) Hines, Scott (Joannie) Hines.

He is preceded in death by infant daughter Julie Ann Hines, parents Walt and Avis Hines and brothers, Bill and Duncan Hines.

The family would like to express sincere gratitude and thankfulness to the Plum City Care Center and all staff, St. Croix Hospice and staff, Dr. Rucker and the Durand Hospital staff for all the wonderful care and kindness you have given to our father during this journey.

Services will take place at a later date due the the current Covid-19 restrictions.
