Freedom Park column: Thankful and grateful

Posted

When reflecting on this past year, Freedom Park – Great River Road Visitor and Learning Center has a lot to be thankful for. Our successful year saw new programs, new partnerships, new volunteers, new sponsors, and new memories!

We are so thankful and grateful for our many volunteers who have given selflessly of their time and graced us with their many talents. These individuals supported our center and park in a myriad of ways such as: welcome desk attendants, garden maintenance, board members, program presenters, and event support to name a few. Without these individuals we would not have been able to have such a successful year.

We have a VERY SPECIAL thank you that needs to be acknowledged. Mr. Jeff Ruehle, the current President of our Board of Directors, will be ending his four-year term with the Friends of Freedom Park in December. Jeff has spent countless hours leading the board. His guidance, knowledge, and overall kind nurturing way has been very much appreciated. We would like to express our heartfelt thanks to him and wish him all the best. We are happy to announce and welcome Mr. Jared Schmitz as our new Board President. We have a tremendous board and all our members give countless hours to quietly lead this wonderful non-profit.

We are also very grateful for the monetary support shown to our park and center. We are grateful to those who have stepped forward to support our mission. We are a non-profit that relies heavily on donations from individuals and companies. Maybe you have a special fondness for our park and center? Please consider giving a monetary gift to help keep our non-profit the “Gem of Prescott.”

Thank you, residents and businesses of Prescott and surrounding communities, for your support! Thank you Travel Wisconsin for your support! Thank you, travelers for your support!
