Freedom Park, the Gem of Prescott, is excited for the upcoming 2023 season. As our weekend-only winter programs draw to a close, the GRRVLC doors will be open six days a week starting May 2 (Tuesday to Sunday – 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. and noon to 5 p.m.) While Freedom Park remains open year-round 24/7, our Great River Road Visitor and Learning Center will again welcome over 11,000 travelers from all over the world this season. We welcome them to experience the magnificent beauty of the confluence region and enjoy our beautiful park setting.

Friends of Freedom Park is proud to have formed many wonderful partnerships over the years. Working with local organizations, schools, the city and its employees, volunteers, businesses and individuals from all walks of life allows Friends of Freedom Park to bring another exciting season to GRRVLC. Many varied, fun, free, and family friendly programs are in store for our visitors. Our website: www.freedomparkwi.org and our Facebook: Great River Road Visitor and Learning Center are great sites to find all our programming schedules and information. When we all work together our community becomes a better place!

Freedom Park houses the learning center, pavilion, gazebo, amphitheater, playground, and many walking paths that wander through native prairie and pollinator gardens. Come for a stroll or sit on a bench overlooking the beautiful Mississippi and St. Croix rivers and refresh yourself in our beautiful natural surroundings.

All buildings at Freedom Park are also available to rent for a special occasion. Our pavilion is perfect for a family reunion, a graduation party, or a birthday party. Our gazebo is ideal for a small wedding. Our amphitheater is also a beautiful location for a wedding. Our indoor River Room can house meetings and small get-togethers such as a baby shower. All rental information and pricing is located on our website.

There is so much to discover and do at our Visitor Center! Make 2023 a year that you get involved in all that we have to offer! Come for a walk, rent one of our buildings, attend one of the numerous educational programs, visit the center to see our many exhibit changes, or volunteer your time with our “Stewards of the Park – Volunteer Program.” Stewards are the bedrock of our organization. We welcome you to be a part of our family of stewards!

Whether you have visited before, or have never stepped through our doors, 2023 is the year for you to come and discover all the exciting things that are happening at Freedom Park. I look forward to seeing you this year at the Gem of Prescott.
