A large crowd assembled Thursday, Sept. 3 for the Ellsworth Kwik Trip grand opening and ribbon cutting at 558 W. Lucas Lane. The store offered free coffee and fountain drinks for the day.

Ellsworth Village President Becky Beissel said for years she has been stopping at every other towns’ Kwik Trips but now Ellsworth can invite everyone to theirs. She said going inside the new store felt surreal after wanting one in town for so long.

Ellsworth Chamber of Commerce Executive Director Kim Beebe said the store opening is the beginning of a new relationship between the company and the community and thanked Kwik Trip for having confidence in Ellsworth.

Sen. Rob Stafsholt (R-New Richmond) said he appreciated Kwik Trip because they don’t come into a community with the sole goal of maximizing profits: it genuinely cares about the community and employees, he said. The Ellsworth Kwik Trip is the 507th Kwik Trip opened in Wisconsin.
