One of the most popular events at the annual Plum City Summerfest celebration was the paper plate drop, involving paper plates being dropped from an airplane for children to catch.

There was no shortage of ball played during Summerfest July 21-23, as the Plum City Blues, Plum City Legion team and Plum City 14U team combined to play five baseball games over the weekend on top of Friday’s annual softball tournament.

The airplane flew over the American Legion Ballpark dropping paper plates a pair of times, which could be turned in for prizes at Plum City Summerfest.

Whether in attendance for a ball game, the food or the paper plate drop, people heard musical entertainment by Jerry and Karen throughout the day Sunday at Plum City Summerfest.

The second drop led to a dash to the outfield wall, as many children hoped to get their hands on a paper plate.

In Sunday’s matchup, the Ellsworth Hubbers got the best of the Plum City Blues by a score of 10-3.
