PRESCOTT — The annual Easter Egg Hunt hosted by the Prescott American Legion Post 61 April 4 was a tremendous success, even with uncertain weather conditions.
A remarkable turnout included 106 girls and 110 boys, with more than 216 children participating in the festivities. The event featured over 1,500 real eggs, all boiled and hand-dyed by dedicated members of Post 61 and its Auxiliary. Every child received a prize, including Dairy Queen coupons, and had the opportunity to take part in a memorable community tradition.
For many families in Prescott, this event is a cherished tradition that has been held for over 50 years at Freedom Park. Children enjoyed taking photos with the Easter Bunny, collecting eggs, selecting toys, and eagerly checking their tickets to see if they were among the 10 lucky winners of brand-new bicycles given away during the event.
Although rain was in the forecast, the weather cooperated—holding off just long enough for the event to begin at 11 a.m. and proceed without interruption.
The American Legion extends its sincere thanks to all the legion and auxiliary volunteers who helped organize and run the event, as well as to the families who came out to participate. This long-standing tradition continues to bring joy, laughter, and lasting memories to the children and families of the Prescott community.
