For the 24th consecutive year Prescott Community Education sponsored a summer trip to the Lac Du Flambeau Indian Reservation. Attendees attended workshops, met with tribal leaders and educators, and attended the Traditional Bear River Pow Wow where participants were given the opportunity to dance with hundreds of tribal members from all over Wisconsin. Additionally, Prescott Community Education attendees served the Saturday evening meal to hundreds of dancers.

"It was just an incredible experience," said Prescott High School alumnus Brigette Nelson. "The people here are so friendly, welcoming, and accommodating and all of us are so thankful for having an opportunity to learn more about the Ojibwa people."

"I have made the trip five times and always learn something new," said Prescott native Erik Zielinski.

Fellow Prescott native John Meilke concurred.

"This place is just a magnet. I encourage anyone who has an interest in history and culture to come on this trip. You will learn a lot and you will never forget the experiences you have. I have made the trip several times and I am sure I will make the trip again."
