Gathering Place gears up for 2024!

PRESCOTT – Gathering Place wishes you all a Happy New Year! We hope you had an awesome holiday with family and friends! We have a great month full of various activities to help you usher in 2024!

Wednesday, Jan. 3: Join your friends at 12:30 p.m. for a game of cards. Euchre, Bridge or game of your choice will be played.

Thursday, Jan. 4: Pickleball will be played at 9 a.m. in the gym at Prescott Intermediate School on Elm Street. At 1 p.m. at the Gathering Place, we will welcome speaker Judy Johnson, director of the upcoming Great River Road Theatre dinner theatre, “Sin, Sex and the CIA.” Production starts the first weekend in February. It is a comedy with a wonderful cast of local artists. Go to greatriverroadtheatre.org for more information.

Friday, Jan. 5: Memory Cafe meets from 10-11:30 a.m. at the First National Bank Community Room on the lower level.

Monday, Jan. 8: Chair Yoga meets from 9:30-10:30 a.m. (must be pre-registered) Check in at the Gathering Place.

Tuesday, Jan. 9: Pickleball is set for 9 a.m. in the gym at Prescott Intermediate School on Elm Street. From 12:30-3:30 p.m. Canasta will be played at the Gathering Place.

Wednesday, Jan. 10: From 12:30-3:30 p.m., join your friends for a game of cards, Euchre, Bridge or game of your choice.

Thursday, Jan. 18: We will show the movie “Ice Age – The Meltdown,” an animated comedy.

Tuesday, Jan. 23: The Book Club will welcome local author Elise Gregory, author of “The Clayfields. Contact Cathy Martin for a copy.
New event this month is Game Day on Thursday, Jan. 25. Players’ choice of a variety of games, starts at 12:30 p.m.
Check your email for the January calendar sent out by Penny Peterson. Gathering Place is open to all seniors 55 and older. It is located at 1220 St. Croix St., Prescott Middle School. Use Door 5 where there is ample parking and easy access.
