Gobblers’ Gallup Thanksgiving Family Run set for Thanksgiving Day

ELLSWORTH – The ninth annual Gobbler’s Gallop 5K/1K Family Fun Run will be held on Thanksgiving morning, Thursday, Nov. 25, 2021, at 8 a.m. in Ellsworth. This event starts and ends at the Nilssen’s Foods and True Value parking lot at 157 E. Main St., Ellsworth.

This event is sponsored by the Random Acts of Kindness Committee from St. Paul’s United Church of Christ. It was originally a mission trip fundraiser but gained momentum when the local food shelf became the recipient of the proceeds a few years ago. Last year’s event saw 90 registrants and raised more than $2,100.

Online registration is now open at www.spuccellsworth. org. You can also print a registration form from this website and mail in your form if you prefer to do so. Please take notice of the registration deadline. You must have your registration turned in by Nov. 16 to be able to receive an event T-shirt. Walkup registration is available the morning of the race beginning at 7:30 a.m, but no shirts will be available for walk-ups.

The registration fee is $20 per person and the fee includes the race T-shirt. There is a family maximum of $50, but that fee only includes two T-shirts. If you register in advance, you can buy additional shirts if you would like to.

Start a new Thanksgiving tradition this year and sign up for this year’s Gobbler’s Gallop 5K/1K! Gather your family and join your community to boost your metabolism and raise funds for a great cause.

All proceeds from this event go directly to the Ellsworth Food Pantry. Social distancing will be a part of start and end procedures. If you prefer to walk or run on your own, you are welcome to do so. You can still pick up your event T-shirt on Thanksgiving morning.
