A dozen teams comprising 48 golfers recently raised $6,000 for Walk On Therapeutic Riding Programs at the Seventh Annual Horsin’ Around Golf Scramble held at the Pheasant Hills Golf Course in Hammond.

Team Meyer Family took top honors with a score of 22 under.

“However, the real winners are the children and adults that benefit from the therapeutic horseback riding programs we’ve offered for the last twenty years,” said program Director Ken Giske.

Prizes were given for the longest drive, closest to the pin, longest putt and other prize drawings were awarded throughout the day.

“We’ve got a great group of sponsors, supporters and volunteers,” Giske said.

Sponsors included: Pheasant Hills Golf Course, Rick & Kim Allen, C & T Siding, River Falls State Bank, Edward Jones-Nick Jackson, Double K Acres Equestrian Center, River Falls Chiropractic, Rural Mutual Insurance, Leitch Insurance, Jim and Julie Myer, Target, Key’s Family Restaurant, Walk On Volunteers, Walk On Riders & Families, Jerry’s Towing, Side Track Bar, Garage Bikes & Brews, Enterprise Creek Electric, and IFS+

“Rick Allen, who is on our Board of Directors, was instrumental in coordinating the event,” Giske said. “We wouldn’t be where we are if not for this kind of support.”

Event proceeds help support the ongoing operating costs of equine healthcare and feeding and facility maintenance. For 24 years, Walk On has provided individualized horseback riding related to equine assisted activities and therapeutic riding instruction to children and adults with any physical, developmental, social and emotional disabilities.
