Ellsworth
Bay City American Legion Post 357 and Kinne Engelhart Post 204 will host the annual Veterans Day program at 9 a.m. at Ellsworth Middle School (312 Panther Drive). The featured speaker will be Adjutant Devin Feuerhelm of Bay City, who will receive a Purple Heart from Rep. Ron Kind. Refreshments will follow the program.
Elmwood
Elmwood’s Veterans Day Program will be held at 9 a.m. Friday, Nov. 11 at the Elmwood High School Wolf’s Den gym (213 Scott St. S.) The public is welcome.
Plum City
The Plum City Veterans Day program will be held at 10:30 a.m. Friday, Nov. 11 in the Plum City High School gymnasium (907 Main St.) The public is welcome.
Prescott
Prescott American Legion 61 will take part in local Veterans Day activities Friday, Nov. 11.
A breakfast will be hosted 8:30-9:15 a.m. at Prescott High School (1010 Dexter St.) followed by a reception and assembly at 9:15 a.m.
St. Joseph Parish School (281 Dakota St. S.) will host a program from 9:45-10:30 a.m., followed by a luncheon at The Old Ptacek’s Event Center (1449 Orrin Road, Prescott).
River Falls
The River Falls American Legion Honor Guard’s 2022 Veterans Day activities include visits to seven schools, a flag raising ceremony at a local business, and delivery of fruit baskets to home-bound veterans and those living in senior facilities.
Friday, Nov. 11, school visits include River Falls High School, 8:30 a.m.; Greenwood Elementary, 9 a.m.; St. Bridget’s, 9:30 a.m.; Rocky Branch Elementary, 10 a.m.; Montessori, 10:30 a.m.; Westside Elementary, 11 a.m. Activities include presentation of Colors and Rifle Salutes, as well as comments by River Falls Post 121 Commander Melissa “Missy” Hildebrandt.
At 11:30 a.m., the Honor Guard will conduct a special Flag Raising Ceremony at Tattersall Distillery, located on the former Shopko site (1777 Paulson Road), and at 1 p.m. the Honor Guard will participate in a special Veterans Day program conducted by students at Meyer Middle School. All veterans and the public are invited to attend. Delivery of fruit baskets will take place following the above events.
The West Wind Supper Club will offer veterans a free buffet meal from noon to 8 p.m.
Spring Valley
The 16th annual Veterans Day Road March will begin at 9 a.m. at Spring Valley Community Center (S242 McKay Ave.) March down Veterans Memorial Highway (Highway 29) to Highway 29 Express (Red Barn). Feel free to leave or join whenever you would like. Walk at your own pace or meet the group somewhere along the way. Text Katie at 715222-3019 with questions.
Veterans are invited to stop into the Spring Valley Public Library (E121 Second St.) between 9 a.m. and noon for cookies and coffee and a small token of appreciation at the Village Clerk’s office.
Join Spring Valley K-12 students for a Veterans Day Celebration at 1 p.m. Friday, Nov. 11, 2022 at Spring Valley High School gym (1450 County Road CC). Doors open at 12:40 p.m.
