Sunday evening, Jan. 25 at Veteran’s Park downtown River Falls a group of over 100 local people held a memorial vigil for Minneapolis nurse and Green Bay native Alex Pretti who was shot by six Immigration and Customs Enforcement agents on Saturday morning. Thousands of other vigils were spontaneously occurring at communities across the Midwest and nationally.

Congress is debating funding ICE another $150 billion this week in the temporary government funding bill that needs to be passed on Friday. Indivisible River Falls is a volunteer run organization started after the November 2024 election by six local women concerned about how the MAGA agenda would harm local people. It is affiliated with national and Wisconsin Indivisible organizations.
“Aligned with local priorities, we organize and act together to protect those worst affected by the recent events in Washington and on campaigns to restore and protect democracy,” said co-founder Jennifer Nelson.
