Isabella Lenz
Isabella Lenz was presented a gold “WWE” style championship belt by her teammates on Senior Night after capping off a remarkably unbelievable career for the Prescott Cardinals. Lenz’s name will be forever inked in Wisconsin state basketball record books as one of the few athletes to be named Conference Player of the Year multiple times after she was named the Middle Border Conference Player of the Year for the second consecutive season. The Cardinals boast a 39-6 conference record the last four seasons, improving every year. Lenz’s freshman year, they finished third with four losses. Her sophomore campaign, they lost just twice before two undefeated conference seasons the last two years.
According to wissports.net, Lenz averaged 21 points, 7.6 rebounds, five assists and 2.8 steals her senior season. Her junior season, she recorded 23.7 points, eight rebounds, 3.6 assists and 4.2 steals per game. Her 51 points on the road at Somerset broke her own school record midway through her junior season.
Prescott fell in the WIAA Regional Final to state runner-up La Crosse Aquinas on the road, 62-77.
The versatile Lenz is playing for NCAA DII Michigan Tech next season.
Lenz will play for the D3 North team on Wednesday, July 14 at 12:30 p.m.
According to the official press release, “It is an honor to be named a participant in the WBCA All-Star games as this event showcases seniors of each division who possess great talent and tremendous character.
“The WBCA All-Star games started back in 1978 and each year the purpose of these games is to raise funds to help fight against childhood cancer. Since 1978, the WBCA has donated over $2.8 Million to the MACC Fund (Midwest Athletes Against Childhood Cancer) in the effort to combat childhood cancer. When the games started, the success rate of saving a child with cancer was down near 10 percent. Now, with the help of the WBCA All-Star games and MANY others, the success of saving a child is up to around 80 percent!!!!”
