THE JOURNAL
Paperboy and Publisher The Journal
Lets us know what you think!
Over the last several months of 2019, we hatched a plan to build a new local newspaper right here in Pierce County.
From our roots as the Prescott Journal, we’ve been doing this a long time. We are Western Wisconsin’s Oldest Newspaper – with roots dating back to 1855.
With roots that deep, we decided it was time to branch out. We were firm believers that a hometown newspaper can stay alive and thrive in 2020.
We rebranded our paper as the Pierce County Journal and took the step to certify our publication with the Wisconsin Department of Administration as Pierce County’s Newspaper.
In just over a month, we’ve been welcomed into homes from Plum City to Bay City, from Hager City to River Falls, from Maiden Rock to Ellsworth and right back to Prescott with open arms. In addition to being the official newspaper for the City of Prescott and the Prescott School District, you’ll find Pierce County’s public notices in The Journal. We’re the official newspaper for the Village of Ellsworth, the Ellsworth School District, the Town of Trimbelle and the Town of Diamond Bluff. We’ve heard from several other townships. Town of Hartland notices will also appear in The Journal.
We pledge to continue to work hard to be Pierce County’s Newspaper.
