Jack Oliver Eastman, 81, of Sauk Rapids, Minn., passed away on Jan. 3, 2026, at CentraCare Hospital in St Cloud, Minn.
He was born Feb. 9, 1944, in Edina, Minn., to Vern and Lydia (Olson) Eastman.
He served in the Navy from Oct. 16, 1964, to Aug. 31, 1968. He was an aircraft engine mechanic. He had many jobs, including the Ford Motor Company and Pitney Bowes, as well as various other miscellaneous Jobs, and, of course, a hobby farm.
He was very proud of his final sober date: March 12, 2002. 24 years of sobriety.
He loved his sobriety and his sobriety family. His passion truly was working with recovering addicts. He volunteered at AA as a hotline Telephone Operator for many years. He was a telemarketer for eight years in St. Cloud, Minn. Anyone who knew him knew it fit him well. He was born to gab.
He was also very proud to have served in the military. He had many VA friends and enjoyed volunteering there as well. Once again, the gift to gab.
He enjoyed crafting things from wood and telling quite believable stories.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Vern and Lydia, Nancy Eastman (wife), Mary (fiancée), and Darren Eastman (son). He is survived by ex-wife Missy, brother Jay Eastman (Diane), and children Jack Eastman. (Audrey), Jodee Eastman, Gretchen Eastman; grandchildren: Hope, Nicole, Dan, Ben, Josh, James, Donavan, Nancee, Frank, and John. Great-grandchildren, nieces, and nephews.
A celebration of life will be held at a later date.
