Jacob Langer
Position: Science, RFHS Hometown: Red Wing, Minn.
College attended: UWRiver Falls
Hobbies/interests: I coach a lot of soccer. I’ve coached various levels in the area, as well as the last three years at RFHS with both the boys’ and girls’ programs. I also enjoy fishing and spending time outdoors with my brother and completing projects around the house.
Family: I grew up in Red Wing playing soccer with my twin brother, J ared, and taking part in various clubs and activities such as robotics and ultimate frisbee. I went to college at UWRF Where I met my wonderful fiancée, Alex, and completed my mathematics degree. In February, Alex and I welcome the first addition to our family, a German wirehaired pointer, Luna. In May, we purchased our first home in Ellsworth.
Why did you choose teaching as your profession? I had set my sights on being a teacher as early as middle school. I've taken many paths toward this point, whether starting towards elementary education, getting a degree in math education or finding myself in a totally different job field fresh out of college before deciding to jump back in. It’s been a journey that I wouldn’t change.
