James (Jim) Kevin Larson, age 73, of River Falls, Wis., passed away peacefully in his sleep on April 14, 2024. He was born on Dec. 27, 1950, in River Falls, to George (Dugan) Charles Larson, Jr. and Eunice (Walton) Larson. Jim graduated from River Falls High School, class of 1969. He remained close with many of his classmates over the years. Jim was drafted into the US Army in May 1970. He was honorably discharged in 1972 and was awarded the National Defense Service Medal.

Jim had a long career at 3M Chemolite, in Cottage Grove. He retired in April 2013 after 40+ years. Jim served as President of Greenwood Cemetery Association Board for many years. Board members called him “Mr. Everything” because he went above and beyond his expected duties and he was so passionate about the cemetery grounds. Jim was a loyal River Falls resident. You could often find him downtown or on the golf course. He always looked forward to his annual golf trip to Florida. The Packers, Badgers and Brewers were his favorite teams. He loved riding his Harley and listening to music, especially Bob Dylan, who he saw in concert over 25 times.

Jim is survived by his sisters, Cinda (Randy) Hohler and Jane Larson, many nieces, nephews, great nieces and nephews, other relatives and many dear friends. He is preceded in death by his parents, his brother George (Butch) Charles Larson III, and sister Nancy Jo Nimtz.

A celebration to honor Jim’s life will be held from 2-5 p.m. Sunday, May 19, 2024, at Johnnie’s Bar, 116 N. Main St., River Falls, WI. A private family burial will be held at a later date at Greenwood Cemetery. Jim’s presence will be profoundly missed, but his memory will live on for all who knew him.
