Hometown: Somerset College attended: Augsburg College (Bachelor’s degree in elementary education), St. Mary’s University (special education cross categorical license), Viterbo University (reading teacher license). I have taught for the past 22 years in grades K-5.
Hobbies/interests: I love making handmade jewelry, reading, crafting, and spending time with my family at the beach and four-wheeling. As a family, we love taking our annual vacation trip to Hayward each summer. We enjoy fishing, boating, going to islands and playing games.
Family: I have been married for 17 years to my husband Steve. We have three kids: Devin (25), Autumn (16) and Elliana (15). Devin is married to Molly and they live in Fond du Lac with my grandpuppy, Russel Culver.
Why did you choose teaching as your profession? As a child, I had a few teachers who made a huge impact on my life. Some of the qualities those teachers possessed included being supportive, encouraging, loving, caring, a good listener and most certainly demonstrated a true and deep passion for teaching. I was blessed to have amazing teachers during my educational journey. This played a key role in my decision to pursue a career in teaching. As an educator, I
want my students to feel loved, valued, cared for, listened to and understood. With this as a basis, it’s my objective to show them that learning is essential, not only at their age, but should be ongoing throughout life. I want to make a positive impact on the students that I
