John H Dahl, age 86, of Ellsworth died on Aug. 2, 2022 at Ellsworth Health Services. John was born on Nov. 29, 1935 to John and Charlotte (Bloom) Dahl in Red Wing, Minnesota. John worked at S.B Foot Tannery for 30 plus years. He married Donnas DeLong on April 24, 1954 in Red Wing, Minnesota. Their union blessed them with five children, Denice, Steven, Jeffrey, Mike, Tim.
John was an avid Packer fan and never missed a game. He enjoyed playing cards; especially euchre, classic cars, and of course a good ol’ John Deere, which he called a “Long Green Lime”. John liked to spend his time farm- ing, smelt fishing, bartending at the “63” Bar and talking with his sister Darlene.
John is survived by his children Denice “Denny” Witgert, Jeffrey (Brenda) Dahl, Mike (Heidi) Dahl, and Tim (Karen) Dahl; daughterin- law Fran Dahl; twelve grandchildren; and numerous great grandchildren; sister Darlene Kruse. He was proceeded in death by his spouse Donnas Dahl, parents John and Charlotte Dahl, son Steven Dahl, son in-law Dr.
John Witgert, brother Alan Dahl and brother in-law Harold Kruse.
A memorial service will be at 4 p.m. Saturday Aug. 20, 2022 at O’Connell Family Funeral Home and Cremation Services: 130 N. Grant St. Ellsworth, WI 54011. A visitation will be from 3 p.m. until the start of the service.
