Joy Lutheran Church Annual Plant Market supports the community

Posted

PRESCOTT – Joy Lutheran Church located in Prescott celebrated the 2026 Plant Market with gratitude and joy, marking the 18th anniversary of this beloved community event. Over the years, the Plant Market has raised a total of $68,000 to support charitable causes, reflecting the generosity, dedication and shared mission of the congregation and community.

This year, the Plant Market raised its highest revenue to date totaling $5,400. This allowed Joy’s Plant Market to distribute $1,350 to each of four charities: St. Croix Valley Habitat for Humanity, Our Neighbor’s Place, Pierce County Veterans, and Joy Lutheran’s sister church in Malawi. In addition, SCV Habitat for Humanity further benefited the community by using the remaining perennials, annuals, and vegetables that did not sell at the market to landscape at new homes being built locally. These gifts extend the impact of the Plant Market far beyond one weekend, helping support important ministries and services locally and globally.

We were blessed with two beautiful spring days for the market, welcoming many congregational and community members who were eager to begin the planting season and enhance their landscapes. Shoppers found a wide variety of annuals and perennials, along with vegetables and herbs to complete their gardens for the season ahead.

Joy Lutheran’s Plant Market embodies a spirit of generosity by caring for both the earth and the community. Through this event, Joy Lutheran continues to live out its mission by planting seeds of kindness, growth, and hope for a brighter, greener future.
