Joy Lutheran Plant Market helps all year long

PRESCOTT – Joy Lutheran Church has long been recognized as a pillar in the community while providing a growing, generous and welcoming Christian community to Prescott and surrounding areas.

Joy Lutheran Church has held an annual community plant market each May for the past 17 years, with the event taking place over a single weekend. The Plant Market inventory consists of beautiful flowering annuals, many different varieties of perennials, hearty garden vegetables and savory herbs. The rich history of the Plant Market directs all sales proceeds to those in need within our neighboring communities. This initiative approach provides both a tangible benefit such as affordable and healthy plants to the public and broader impact by funding important community services. This year’s contributions went equally to Pierce County Veteran Services, Our Neighbors’ Place, St. Croix Valley Habitat for Humanity and Joy Lutheran’s sister church in Malawi.

Joy Lutheran’s Plant Market relies on the dedication and commitment of its members and volunteers. From nurturing seedlings to organizing the event and assisting customers, the Plant Market fosters a sense of camaraderie and a shared purpose. It is a chance for people of all ages to connect, meet new community members, learn and serve together.

Joy Lutheran’s Plant Market exemplifies the spirit of giving back with nurturing both the earth and local community. It is through these initiatives Joy Lutheran embodies its mission with sowing seeds of kindness, growth and hope ensuring a brighter and greener future for all.

Mark your calendars for the next Plant Market, set for May 9, 2026.
