PRESCOTT – Joy Lutheran Church celebrated its Second Annual Tailgate Party the Friday before the Prescott v. Osceola varsity football game. The event drew in families and community members to enjoy a beautiful fall night together.
Families and children enjoyed playing in the bounce house, throwing a football, playing gaga ball, and competing in cornhole.
The main feature of this event, besides the five delicious food trucks, was the University of Wisconsin River Falls Marching Falcons!
"It is a relatively new program," Dr. Tom Barnett, Professor of Music and leader of the Marching Falcons said, "and we are excited to get out into the community and showcase our students’ talent!"
The powerful sound of the Marching Falcons attracted many members including neighbors dancing on their porches and alumni sharing memories of the days they were in the band. The event also featured live music from local Prescott musicians Dominic Edwards and Scott Halverson.
Many community members commented on how fun it was to have a safe, family centered, local event to draw together so many members of the community.
Joy Lutheran Church plans to continue this event on an annual basis as a way to celebrate this community, the students, and the joy of being together!
