PRESCOTT - At 7 p.m. Friday, July 11, Robert Taunt will present "Recollections of a Steamboat Pilot - George Byron Merrick." This presentation is part of the Prescott Area Historical Society's Speaker Series.
Join Taunt as he recreates the character of one of Prescott's native sons. Recounting true stories from his 1909 book "Old Times on the Upper Mississippi," the character of Merrick will tell of early days in Prescott and steam boating prior to the Civil War. The story will be told through narrative and colorful Powerpoint slides. Don't miss this rare appearance of Prescott's own George Merrick!
