ELLSWORTH — How can you make your backyard a welcoming place for birds as they begin their fall migration? Older adults can find out at the next Growing Connections program from 10:30 a.m. to noon Wednesday, Sept. 2 at the Ellsworth Public Library.

Cathy Olyphant of the St. Croix Valley Bird Club will present “Preparing Your Backyard for Fall Bird Migration.” Participants will learn about fall bird migration and simple ways to support birds along their journey, from providing food and water to creating a welcoming backyard habitat.

Growing Connections is a free, hands-on monthly program for older adults that brings together gardening, nature, creativity, and community—all with brain health in mind. No gardening experience or green thumb is required.

Each session includes an opportunity to connect with others, learn something new, and participate in a hands-on activity to take home. Light refreshments will also be provided.

The September program is free, and preregistration is requested. To register or for more information, contact the Ellsworth Public Library at 715-273-3209.

Growing Connections meets on the first Wednesday of each month and is offered in partnership with the Pierce County ADRC.
