Letter to the editor: Mike McFadden for sheriff

Posted

To the editor,

The Republican party of Pierce County has decided to endorse candidates for the Aug. 11 primary according to the pictures on their FB page. Stephanie Potton, Republican county chair informed me in an email that this was not the case. Quote: "For clarification, we have NOT endorsed as a County Republican Party any primary candidate for Sheriff and both Sheriff Candidates were invited." She then accused me of bullying her, quote: "As for your assault on my integrity and demanding I get my ducks in a row, I take great offense!"

Being in politics, she should have a thick skin. I don't like being told half truths. You have no integrity when the Republican party of Pierce county FB profile shows that you're putting up signs for the candidates the RPPC has chosen for us to vote for.

There are two Republican candidates for governor and two for Pierce County sheriff. There’s only one on the RPPC FB page. Chad Koranda and not Mike McFadden. The signs I see on their FB profile are an endorsement especially when members are posing in front of it. I've taken a screenshot so those pictures aren't deleted.

So why wasn't Andy Manske candidate for governor invited to speak at the meet and greet on July 18 at the Pierce County Fairgrounds? Is he too stupid? Too green? He's got his vision on his website: https://andymanske4governor.com/

Next is Mike McFadden as Patrol Sargent Deputy who's more qualified than the current sheriff. Why aren't his campaign signs being included on the RPPC FB profile?? So he was invited to speak for 5 minutes on July 18. What a joke.

The excuse by Stephanie: "Mike should have reached out to the party early on so we could have had them both at caucus and meet our active members. As it is, the first time he reached out to me was to my personal email (which I rarely check and don't check for politics) on June 5. By that time, we were well on our way planning this picnic." Lame excuse. Check out on FB Mike McFadden for Sheriff. We need honesty and integrity in our pierce county Republican party.
