To the editor,
I would like to express my sincere gratitude to everyone who helped make Saturday’s A Confluence of Communities event possible and such a success. A special thank you goes to the Prescott Foundation and the Wisconsin Conference of the United Church of Christ. Their generous financial support helped turn a dream into reality and provided the foundation for a truly memorable day.
Additional thanks go to Freedom Park Director Linda Schenk, whose assistance, knowledge and expertise were crucial to the event’s success. I also want to recognize the City of Prescott, Mayor Mike Gerke, the Prescott School District, the Prescott Daze Committee and Ptacek’s IGA for their invaluable logistical support.
And then there were the countless volunteers who gave their time, energy and enthusiasm to make the day possible. The Friends of Freedom Park, members of the Prescott High School Student Council, members of the Prescott High School National Honor Society and the Lac du Flambeau Alumni all played an important role. Their efforts were noticed and deeply appreciated.
Most importantly, the traditional dancers and singers expressed their sincere gratitude for the wonderful welcome and treatment they received throughout the day. Prescott should be extremely proud of the way its residents represented this community. The warmth, hospitality and respect shown to our guests demonstrated what a community can accomplish when people come together.
Finally, brava to BAIC Committee members Paula Kalinosky and Lisa Bodenheim for hosting and coordinating this extraordinary event. Their dedication and hard work brought people together in a way that was both meaningful and memorable. Saturday was a wonderful reminder of the strength of community. To everyone who played a part, thank you. You helped create something Prescott can be truly proud of.
