To the editor,
This week, I watched the candidate forum for the 30th Assembly District. While many things impressed me about Shannon’s performance, I want to highlight how he opened the forum. Campaign season can get nasty and each side hurls insults at each other. The way Shannon addressed the attacks about him head on was refreshing to see, especially in a political climate such as today’s. It is not easy to discuss personal family situations publicly like that, but it showed that Shannon takes his role as a husband, father, and grandfather very seriously, while still working for us in Madison. It also allowed the candidates to have a real and substantive conversation on policy and how we can continue to move Wisconsin forward.
I can’t change how political campaigns are run, but I can choose where I place my vote. That is why I will proudly be voting for Shannon Zimmerman to represent the 30th Assembly District, because we need good people like him representing us in office.
