ELLSWORTH – This September, Ellsworth Public Library invites you to celebrate Library Card Sign-Up Month and discover how a library card can hit all the right notes, no matter what your tastes are. Celebrated each September since 1987, Library Card Sign-Up Month has been an initiative of the American Library Association to encourage communities everywhere to explore all the offerings that having a library card unlocks.
This year’s theme, “A Library Card Hits All the Right Notes,” is a reminder that libraries offer something for everyone—no matter your age, background, or goals. Whether you’re checking out a classic story or trying something new, finding harmony at the library’s programs, finding your focus in a study room or vibing out in a cozy nook, or composing your future with new skills, there’s a seat in the front row at the library for you, and your library card is the ticket.
Library cards are available for a variety of needs. Standard library cards provide full access to the library’s collections and services. Institution cards are available to eligible organizations for work-related use. Student cards are available to eligible students enrolled in Ellsworth Community School District and provide limited access to library materials, technology and digital resources. Home delivery cards are available to eligible people who are unable to visit the library. And temporary cards are available to provide limited library access to people without a permanent street address or those living in temporary accommodations.
Whether you’re looking for books to enjoy at home, resources for work or school, or a way to stay connected to your community, there’s a library card option to help.
