Few things are more compelling than a song. The mere mention of one conjures up memories of times gone by. Hearing one can either bring a person to tears or instill joy in one’s heart. Songs make statements. Songs entertain. They guide us through movies and envelop us in sound as we shop. One might say that all of life is a song, or a series thereof.
Yes, life is a song! So much so that that very statement has been chosen as the theme for the upcoming Reunionettes gathering to be held at The Ridgetop, located at W10516 US Highway 10 between Ellsworth and Prescott, at noon on Thursday, Aug. 31. All women who have graduated from Ellsworth High School in 1973 or prior are invited to attend. Cost is $15 per person payable at the door.
With the exception of taking a year off due to a pandemic, the Reunionettes have been gathering on an annual basis since 1935. Ten attended the first gathering; 50 were present in 2022. A record-breaking number is hoped for this year with attendance being enticed by the promise of Ellsworth’s own graduate Colleen Raye entertaining during the event.
RSVPs can be made by contacting Karen Cernohous at 715-262-5504, Joyce Engnes at 715-307-3935, or Karen Meyer at 715-273-5949 no later than Aug. 26, 2023.
As Rudy Vallée first sang in the 1930’s and Tony Bennett later crooned in the 1950’s, “Life is a song, let’s sing it together”…..at the 2023 Reunionettes gathering.
