ELLSWORTH — While cheese curds may be the star of the show, the Cheese Curd Festival in Ellsworth is just as much about the music as it is about the food. This year’s entertainment lineup promises a dynamic weekend of toe-tapping, crowd-pleasing performances from some of the Midwest’s most engaging musical acts, all taking place in the festival grounds in Ellsworth’s East End Park and business district.

From Friday, June 27 through Saturday, June 28, festivalgoers can enjoy a full slate of live music, with performances spanning Americana, blues, pop, rock, and country. Whether you're grabbing a cold drink and settling in under the trees at East End Park or browsing booths in the Artisan Market along Broadway Street, the sounds of summer will follow you.

“Our music lineup is always a festival highlight,” said Kim Beebe, Executive Director of the Ellsworth Chamber of Commerce. “We’re intentional about bringing in a variety of musical styles and artists that appeal to a broad audience to create a fun, lively vibe all weekend long.”

This year’s stage will feature a mix of crowd favorites and fresh new talent, with performances designed to keep the energy high and the good times rolling.

The Tucker Baker Band, a high-energy trio known for their genre-blending sets and strong Midwest roots, is a regional favorite. They mix classic country hits from legends like George Strait and Alan Jackson with unexpected covers from artists like Post Malone and Blink 182. It’s a boot-stomping, sing-along kind of show that’s sure to make for a great party in the park on Friday night.

Saturday night brings a change of pace with J Bell & The Lazy Susan Band, known for their soulful blend of Americana, roots rock, and alt-country. Led by Minneapolis-based singer-songwriter J Bell, the band offers rich musical textures and heartfelt lyrics, drawing inspiration from greats like Tom Petty, Bob Dylan, Old 97s, Counting Crows, and Soul Asylum. Their laid-back style and thoughtful storytelling make them the perfect soundtrack for a warm summer evening at the festival.

Joining the weekend lineup is Justin Barts & The Way Out, a Wisconsin-based group with a sound steeped in country soul and rock ‘n’ roll grit. Known for their authentic storytelling and electric stage presence, this rising band blends traditional country vibes with modern flair. Their performance will bring a powerful dose of hometown rhythm and heart to the festival.

Also performing throughout the event are popular regional acts including Half Shebang, 3OTT, The Oatmeal Band, and more. All performances are free, and guests are encouraged to bring lawn chairs and picnic blankets and settle in to relax and enjoy the music.

In addition to the musical entertainment, the festival features a curated Artisan Market, showcasing over 50 regional makers offering handmade goods, gourmet treats, and unique finds. It’s the perfect way to experience the creativity of Wisconsin’s artisan community, and maybe take home a few one-of-a-kind gifts.

For those craving competition and high-energy fun, don’t miss the Cheese Curd Eating Contest, one of the weekend’s most anticipated events. Cheer on local legends and brave visitors as they battle to see who can consume their curds in a short burst of cheesy glory. It’s fast, fun, and delightfully messy--a festival tradition that never fails to entertain.

Now’s the time to make plans to attend. The Cheese Curd Festival takes place rain or shine, and admission is free. Whether you come for the curds, the music, or simply the atmosphere, the event promises something for everyone.

The festival runs from 4-10 p.m. on Friday, June 27, and from 10 a.m. to 10 p.m. on Saturday, June 28. Parking and shuttles to and from the festival grounds are free.
