Margaret Driscoll, age 86, of River Falls, and formerly of Prescott, passed away peacefully on Friday, Jan. 17, 2025, at The Sycamore of River Falls.
Margaret was born on April 20, 1938, to Fritz and Lillian Nelson. She attended Cloverdale Elementary School and graduated with the Ellsworth High School Class of 1957. After high school, she worked briefly for the telephone company in Hudson before beginning a long career with South Saint Paul Feed. It was there that she formed a close friendship with a coworker who would later become her husband. On Sept. 30, 1972, Margaret married Tom Driscoll at Our Savior’s Lutheran Church in Beldenville. Their union spanned over 50 wonderful years, with most of their married life spent in Prescott, where Margaret created a warm and welcoming home.
Margaret took great pride in her home, which served as her sanctuary. She could often be found outdoors tending to her yard, mowing the lawn, and keeping the weeds at bay. Margaret and Tom shared a love of travel and especially enjoyed cruising the Caribbean and Hawaii. Earlier in life, they found joy in snowmobiling and golfing together.
Margaret is preceded in death by her parents; husband, Tom; siblings Esther (Melvin) Lundgaard, Joyce (Kenneth) Johnson, Howard (Rita) Nelson, and sister-in-law Darla Nelson.
She is lovingly remembered by her siblings, Lawrence Nelson, Florence ‘Sauci’ (Howie) Miller, and Grace Williams, as well as by her nieces and nephews, all of whom held a special place in her heart.
A Memorial Service to celebrate Margaret’s life will be held at 11 a.m. Wednesday, Feb. 5, at the Old Ptaceks Event Center: 1449 Orrin Road, Prescott, WI, with visitation one hour prior. Memorials are preferred and will be directed toward causes that reflect Margaret’s passions. Burial will take place at St. Joseph’s Catholic Cemetery.
