The weather out of Duluth, Minnesota was cool and crisp with just enough rain on Saturday to make the weekend fishing trip more interesting. There were five brave souls that made the excursion with Happy Hooker Charters. The charter company has been in the Dahl family for years and many of the captains and crew are members of the family.
The first day out was rainy and windy, but the team of Dennis Donath and his son DJ, Dr. Frank During, and Milt Helmer brought in one fish a piece. The team considered it a good day because other boats did not fair so well._ Day two dawned sunny and warmer and a new crew took us to deeper waters._ The new strategy proved successful because at days end the team registered a total of six lake trout and one salmon. Several of the lake trout weighed from 5 to 6 lbs.
